On September 21st, we had the pleasure of welcoming back to the Union more than 200 Lifetime Members for a fun evening, full of nostalgia and camaraderie. Memories of their time at the Union were shared among the visiting Alumni, while more than 150 Members who are currently residing in Oxford were delighted to attend the debate with the topic:

This house proposes that the Monarchy should be sacked, Buckingham Palace given to the homeless, and the corgis put to productive work

A special thank you to our fantastic speakers, many of whom travelled to Oxford from further field to attend our event. Event attendees also had the opportunity to view the information regarding our vision for the ongoing conservation and improvement of the Frewin Court site; we will be sending out more information soon.

The event was helped by the pleasant autumn evening which saw attendees flock into the courtyard. As it was over-subscribed, we are currently developing plans for further opportunities for Lifetime Members to connect with the Union. We would love to hear from you if you can help coordinate or host a Members’ event in your area, or if you have any other fundraising ideas that will help us to achieve our Bicentenary Campaign goals.
