We are committed to removing financial barriers. We aspire to significantly lower and one day waive altogether the need for membership fees. Our members are primarily drawn from The University of Oxford. We support the many outreach and access initiatives championed by the university - and also seek to broaden and widen participation in The Union.
We are now exploring a fund to remove financial barriers to access and participation by significantly reducing membership fees with the aim of removing them altogether for those who are eligible for a maintenance loan of £8,318+, a Crankstart Scholarship of £4,200+ or on an Oxford University Foundation Year Programme.
It is envisioned that this fund would also help ensure that footage of debates and speaker Q&As remain accessible to as many as possible as part of our commitment to supporting education. More details will be shared in due course.
