Zhou Fengsuo is the Co-founder and current President of Humanitarian China and an advocate of human rights. During the Tiananmen protests in 1989, he built and led “Voice of the Student Movements” on Tiananmen Square. He was No. 5 on the most wanted list of student leaders after the Tiananmen Massacre, and was arrested and spent a year in prison. He was director and then president of the Chinese Democracy Education Foundation between 2001 and 2010. He slipped back into Beijing to commemorate the 25 anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre, where he was arrested and sent back. Later that year he also participated Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong.
