Amika George is a British activist who, at age 17, started campaigning for Period poverty in the UK. In 2019, her campaign successfully persuaded the UK government to provide free menstrual products in all English schools and colleges from January 2020. She received global accolades for her work, including a Goalkeeper Campaign award by Bill & Melinda Gates in conjunction with the UN. She was also listed by TIME Magazine as one of 25 most influential teenagers in the world.
