Alex Hibbert

Polar Expedition Leader

Alex Hibbert is a British polar explorer, author and photographer who holds numerous records for Arctic exploration. Hibbert studied at St Hugh’s College, Oxford and has spent well over 500 days living and working in various regions of the Arctic. In 2008, along with his teammate George Bullard, Hibbert crossed the Greenland ice cap twice, along a new route, in 113 days. This is still the record for the longest unsupported Arctic expedition. Since then, he has published several works about his travels, planned and undertaken several expeditions and is currently trying to organise an attempt to reach the Geographic North Pole unsupported in the darkness of winter
