Co-creator of the Glastonbury Festival
Michael Eavis is the co-creator of Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s most famous music and performing arts festivals. Regarded as a major event in British culture, the Festival has influenced, and been influenced by, hippie and counterculture movements for the past fifty years. Eavis has been included in the annual Time Magazine Top 100 Most Influential People in the World for his founding role. The Festival now raises approximately £2 million each year in aid of Greenpeace, Oxfam, WaterAid, and hundreds of local causes.
